A hotel project order is not a set order. What matters is that every piece in every room matches: the same colour, the same specification, the same plating, and enough of each piece to cover the list without running short in the last twenty rooms.
So the pieces are drawn from the project list rather than from a fixed set: towel bars, rings, hooks and paper holders in the quantities the drawings call for, all in one finish. Runs are large: several hundred to several thousand pieces, depending on the property.
Durability is the other consideration. In a hotel the fittings are used many times a day, and the plating takes the wear, which is why PVD brushed gold and brushed nickel are offered alongside polished chrome and powder coated matte black. On large orders the plating can be run as a single batch and packed uniformly, so that the rooms do not drift in colour from one floor to the next.
