SPC Rigid Core Vinyl Plank
A stone and PVC rigid core plank that clicks together and is fully waterproof, for kitchens, bathrooms and utility rooms.
Fully waterproof
The core is stone and PVC, so the plank does not swell with water and can be laid in kitchens, bathrooms and utility rooms.
Rigid core
A four millimetre plank is about 3.5 to 3.7 mm of core under a 0.3 to 0.5 mm wear layer, which is what keeps the plank flat.
Clicks together
Planks join on a click lock system, so the floor can be laid without glue over most subfloors.

SPC flooring is a rigid plank built on a core of stone powder and PVC, with a printed decor layer and a transparent wear layer on top. The core is what gives the range its two advantages: it does not take in water, and it stays flat.
The first advantage decides where it can go. A plank that does not swell can be laid in a kitchen, a bathroom or a utility room, which is not true of laminate or solid wood. The second decides how it behaves over time and over a subfloor that is not perfectly level, because a rigid plank bridges small variations rather than following them.
Thickness runs from 4 mm to 6 mm as standard, with 7 mm and 8 mm for heavier builds. What matters about the thickness is what is inside it: a 4 mm plank is about 3.5 to 3.7 mm of core under a 0.3 to 0.5 mm wear layer, and the wear layer is the part that takes the traffic. Both numbers are normally specified together.
Planks are 1220 × 180 mm (about 48 × 7 in) as standard, with 1230 × 145 mm and larger 230 × 1500 mm formats available. They join on a click lock system, so the floor goes down without glue on most subfloors, and an IXPE or EVA backing can be attached or supplied separately for sound.
