Some kitchens want the handle to carry something the metal finishes cannot: a hand painted pattern on a ceramic knob, the grain of a wood pull, or the surface of leather. These pieces are made for that, and they are usually specified as the detail that lifts a plain door.
They are ordered in the same way as the rest of the range, by centre-to-centre spacing and by quantity, and they are screw fixed. Where a metal part is used, it is finished to match the pulls and knobs in the same kitchen, so the two can be used together.
Because the material is the point of the piece, the finish range is about the design rather than about wear resistance, and these handles sit at the decorative end of the range.
