A multi-function shower system is built around a large rain head, with the rest of the fittings arranged around it. Heads run at 12 in (305 mm) and 16 in (406 mm), and panel versions go up to 16 × 24 in and 12 × 36 in, which turns the shower from a fitting into the main feature of the bathroom.
Below the head the system can carry four outlets: the rain head, a hand shower, a waterfall outlet and body jets, with two or four side jets set into the wall. Water temperature is held by a thermostatic cartridge, and because the outlets add up, the valve is usually specified at a higher flow than a two-outlet set.
Large panels bring their own conditions. A 16 × 24 in head carries a considerable weight of water and needs the ceiling or the wall to be able to take it, so the mounting is confirmed against the build before the set is made. Some models add LED colour light, Bluetooth audio and a digital display, which brings in a power supply and waterproofing for the wet zone.
