Foot-sensor and automatic flush as standard, with a remote control for the remaining functions.

A smart toilet is a single electronic unit in which the bowl, the cistern and the controls are built together. Standard functions are foot-sensor and automatic flush, an automatically opening lid, a heated seat, warm-water washing for both posterior and feminine use, warm-air drying, a remote control and odour extraction. Voice control, a projected display and fully automatic open, close and flush are available on higher specifications.
The electrical provision is part of the order rather than an afterthought: 110 V for North America or 220 V for other markets, always with earth-leakage protection, and electronic parts sealed and IP-rated for the wet zone. Flush is siphonic or rimless and usually dual-stage or pressure-assisted. Certification follows the destination market: CE, cUPC / UPC for North America and Watermark for Australia and New Zealand.
