On a two-piece toilet the tank is cast separately from the bowl and the two are bolted together. Because they are separate castings, a damaged tank or bowl can be replaced without discarding the whole unit, which keeps repairs straightforward across a large installed base.
The footprint is the same as a one-piece: 28 to 30 in deep, about 20 in wide and 27 to 32 in high, with the seat at 15 to 16 in or 17 in for ADA layouts. Water use sits in the 1.28 gallon (4.8 L) class. Siphonic is the standard flush system, and siphon jet, washdown and rimless versions can be built to order.
